CHORAL MUSIC OF BIBLICAL TEXTS

Choral music of biblical texts: Two intense days of vocal music

I invite you to two days of vocal music composed over biblical texts were singers and choir enthusiasts work together irrespective of age and experience together with the conductor Saul Zaks.

Saul Zaks is the conductor of the University of Southern Denmark Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Choir, and works as Chorus master for the Danish Radio Choir. He is trained both in Denmark and abroad as a conductor, music theorist and historian, and has been active as a teacher for many years. This includes the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus.

Saul Zaks grew up in Israel, where he has taught and directed at The Jerusalem Academy of Music & Dance. Moreover, Saul Zaks has worked there together with the country's most renowned orchestra and choir.

Given that the groups are composed of 15-20 people working on small choral works in Hebrew and other languages, there will be ample opportunity for individuals to gather insights. Especially since a series of choral works will be presented by a conductor who clearly has a natural approach to Israel as a country and the biblical texts in particular. We will strive to reach far into the fantastic universe of the music presented by the conductor.

You and your colleagues will learn about concepts like the ensemble sound, phrasing, articulation and biblical musical interpretations in collaboration with an inspiring conductor and music teacher.

You will get a fresh input, confront new perspectives of the biblical texts, musical challenges and your communication skills are likely to improve.

There will be musical initiatives and social interaction from dawn to dusk creating a unique atmosphere.
